100 % Clean

How many per cent are we forgiven? 50 %? Maybe 99.9? No, Jesus Christ paid for all our sins. This was the topic of Sergej Tensin’s sermon in the church “Philadelphia” on 11 April.

We are clean — not because of our actions, but because He made a covenant with people — the New Testament. The covenant is an agreement. We come across different agreements, but usually they are made in a way that is convenient for one side. In our agreement with God all is made so that we could get all the profit. We became co-heirs with Christ, so to speak — partners with Christ. We work with Him to achieve the goals that our Heavenly Father set for us. All this is due to the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. In Hebrews 9:12 we read that He “entered the Most Holy Place once for all by His own blood, having obtained eternal redemption”. He redeemed us from slavery of sin. Now we belong to Him and He wants to work through us. In the same chapter Jesus is called the mediator of a new covenant — He protects our interests.

The dean of the church Yuri Baburin talked about faith. As we know from Hebrews 11:1, “faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see”. Thus on the one hand it is trusting God, on the other hand — practical realization of anticipated events. Faith is not our feelings that are changeable, deceiving and opposing the sound things. The main foundation of our faith should be in God’s Word. No book can be compared to the Bible in reliability. Another foundation is Jesus Christ through whom we have salvation. The third part of this foundation is a testimony of the Holy Spirit who gives us inner capacities to fight with sin. Our faith can be unshakable on these foundations!
