The Sunday sermon of the senior pastor Pavel Zhelnovakov at the church meeting 21 March made everybody think again about the things that are the essential images of the core of Christianity. They are the cross, death and resurrection. Everything else is just interpretation and explanation of this news for a routine human life. We can’t break God-given sequence. The moment the truth about the cross slips our memory, we have problems ahead of us. This news mustn’t be replaced by religious traditions and moral principles.

The ordinance of holy communion, baptism, the sacrament of faith — these are exposed notions that overwhelm us by the deep meaning. These ordinances can be understood through the beauty of God’s relationships. The foundation of our faith is the news about the cross. We shouldn’t forget that Jesus came so that we could live. There wouldn’t be any salvation without bloodshed. The price of our salvation is crucified Jesus.

Having a holy communion the church “Philadelphia” touched the greatest sanctities of Christianity, having felt what had happen on the cross. “For Christ's love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And He died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for Him who died for them and was raised again” (2 Corinthians 5:14-15).
