Being free

On Sunday sermon of "Philadelphia" Church, Izhevsk, pastor Alexey Korepanov spoke about the personal life. "Everyone is a person, but not a self-sufficing person", - he noticed. A believer and an unbeliever are two different persons. The unbeliever who does not know God lives in a contradiction with his own nature, because the nature of a man is to live in the presence of God. The believer realizes this dependence and completes insufficiency of his soul with God's help. We solve the problem of our personal life through having intimate relationship with our Creator. It is wholesome, comprehensive and meaningful life. These relationships result in our friendly relations with each other: in church, at work, in family.

The senior pastor of "Philadelphia" Church Pavel Zhelnovakov preached about freedom that we received by virtue of Jesus Christ. "Do you consider yourself free?" - he asked. The point is that the one who sins is a slave for sin, and the one who comes to God is a slave for God. We are either "slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness", - says the Apostle Paul (Romans 6:16). But on the other side - who is free? The one who can choose himself where to go and what to do is free. A sinner does not have a choice because his choice is determined by sin. The one who accepted God has the choice to sin or to dedicate your life to Christ. If the person chooses to dedicate his life to Jesus, in some way he becomes bounded again. Paul the Apostle says about himself: "Though I am free and belong to no one, I have made myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible" (1 Corinthians 9:19). To restrict his freedom is a deliberate and voluntary decision made by a Christian who knows God and His will. Every day, as free people, we choose to dedicate our mind and body to Jesus Christ in order to glorify His name in this world.
