Answer to a call

On the Sermon of March, 2nd, Aleksey Obukhov preached about peace and a ministry of reconciliation. "Grace and peace to you from God our Father " - Paul the Apostle writes to the first Christians in his epistles. "All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation" (2 Corinthians 5:17-21) - the Apostle continues. The peace of God lays on the fact, that God approached us to Himself and gave us the foundation, so strong that we can be afraid of nothing and not to worry unduly. The state of God's peace is a state of calm, given by God Himself. While man is searching, there is no place for peaceful sleeping, there are no man to finally rely on. A man is everywhere followed by alarm and concern. but when you meet God He gives you His peace and inner confidence. Jeremiah says about the road to safety: " Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls" (Jeremiah 6:16).

Pastor Aleksey Corepanov talked about God's calling. When a man turns away from God's calling it is like he start to conflict with himself - we were meant to live in accordance to God's plan. God calls to His people: "Return to me" (Zechariah 1:3). " it is hard for you to kick against the pricks" (Acts 9:5) - Saul hears on his way to Damask. The future Apostle of Christ accepts the calling and "returns", goes to God. As we know, after that his ministry has become the one of the most powerful in the history. Other Apostles - Peter and John - after being threatened and convinced of not telling about Christ say: "We can't not to tell about what we've heard and seen". The Word of God, once having come into our heart, changes our essence and gives us the meaning. Once having replied on the calling we don't want to live in other way, because we have already known the real destination of our existence. Do you know your calling?
