On the last supper before the crucifixion Christ broke bread and gave it to Disciples, said: «do this in remembrance of me». «For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes» (1 Corinthians 11:23-26). Twice an evening Christ says Christians are to remember Him and announce His death during the communion. "Until I come" - Christ says. He is not joking when He says He is coming back. All reminiscences He talks about are not just a rite, but it has a purpose.

The senior pastor of Philadelphia church, Izhevsk, Pavel Zhelnovakov spoke about purposes of communion and values of Christ's followers on Sunday's sermon.

Bible says in the day of the Second Coming « Two women will be grinding grain together; one will be taken and the other left» (Luke 17:36), God will take His chosen people to him. Christians should wait for this day with joy - and this is from the one hand. From the other hand there is a thought that someone will be left. And here is a question: do we, saved, care about those who are left? Communion asks us this question. Due to communion every heart should be refreshed with sympathy to other people lives. We must meet God pure - the communion should refresh our inner readiness to face God, which is directly connected with salvation of our nearest.
