Secret open to believers

On 26th, January, Sunday's morning, the Bishop of Smolensk region Andrey Lisovskiy preached in "Philadelphia" Church in Izhevsk. He spoke about the secret, opened to believers, and its practice. The moment of the Ascension of Christ is described in Acts: "Men of Galilee, why do you stand here looking into the sky?" (Acts 1:9-11) "Probably, - the server guessed - all the churches would be different today, if angels didn't come and ask this sober question. They would probably keep looking into the sky, build up a temple on this mountain for themselves and set up some ritual of waiting for ascended Christ. So the commission would be forgotten: "and you will be my witnesses ... to the ends of the earth" (Acts 1:8). Unfortunately, it happens when we come to the church, take a seat and watch "the ascension of Christ". And we forget our real destiny.

Christ is risen and that's the secret that was opened to us. Sometimes we don't understand how much it means - we don't keep it in heart, we don't feed from it. People around us know nothing about it! They do not know happiness is not hidden in material things, neither in evenness nor in supposed spiritual search. It is God only who fulfills our life and shows us the meaning. It is hidden for people around us but at the same time it is opened to us. Christ called us to open it to others not to stay and look into the sky, where Christ has gone.

As well, the senior pastor of the church preached about advocacy. Advocacy is unceasing asking for someone before God. Bible says Jesus advocates for us that we have accepted Him, so we can be clean before God (1 John 2:1-2). The Holy Spirit also asks God the Father for important things, that are unknown, through us (Romans 8:26-27). Pastor reminded of extremely important truth, written in Bible, that Christ has repeated when living on Earth: "My house will be called a house of prayer" (Mathew 21:13). How people in the church pray speaks about how holy Jesus Christ is in our hearts.
