At the last church service of January in “Philadelphia” church in Izhevsk the congregation blessed two young couples – family of Igor and Albina Solomennikovs who had a wedding the previous Saturday, and Marsel Fardiev and Elena Kungorova who are starting preparation for wedding.

Konstantin Proleyev shared the vision of the “Faith Alphabet” Bible course, which is open to all who want to know more about God and faith and for those who have recently come to church or have been just baptized.

Ilijas Mukhametdinov shared his thoughts about the idea that our relationships with brothers and sisters are a mere reflection of our relationship with God ( John 4:20). Is everything fine in a person’s relationship with God if they allow themselves to gossip, offend somebody, in other words, do something against their neighbor, expressing in their actions not love, but something opposite? We know that the Church is compared in the Bible with Christ’s Bride – clean without any spot or blemish. We should aspire to the same image of purity and holiness because if there is no unity in the Church, there is no unity with Christ. The minister reminded verses from the Bible which encourage us to take care after one another, which makes our relationships with our neighbors and with Christ stronger (Phillipians 2:2-4).

Senior pastor of the church Pavel Zhelnovakov offered to think about faith and endurance. In modern world such notions as patience and especially endurance have completely lost their popularity – everything must be done fast, as soon as a person wishes for something. When we study the Bible we see something completely different. The apostle Paul addressing citizens of Thessalonica thanks God for their faith and patience (2nd Thessalonians 1:2-5). One of the great Bible examples of deep faith is Abraham whose faith in God’s promise was steadfast due to his endurance. Does endurance have time limits? An answer to this question can be found in the Word that says: “be patient… until the Lord’s coming “ (James 5:7). Lifetime endurance can seem like a hard choice, that is why the pastor encouraged the church to keep in mind «rich reward» that is waiting for everybody faithful to His promises.
